Displayed below are the default settings for your Account's User Management. Use the predefined settings to change this subaccount's User Management criteria.
On the User Management page, use the drop-down menus to choose the user management type and user name type. When selecting a user name type (USER DEFINED, STORED, or RANDOM), specific options for each type become available for setup. In the Email User Management Errors field, type an email address where to send the user management errors. Refer to the paragraphs listed below for information about each User Management option.
- User Management Type - The operating system, which allows us to administer the authentication system. Choosing None allows you to administer the user management system, instead of our service.
- User Name Type - This specifies the system to use for authentication of the members/ subscribers.
- User Defined - You enter the authentication data. Your subscribers choose unique user names and passwords for their individual use. CCBill ensures that no identical user names and passwords are issued.
- Stored - You upload a library of specific user names and passwords. CCBill assigns them individually to your subscribers. CCBill needs to have an email address to communicate when to upload additional authentication data. For example, if the library is down to 2000 names/ passwords, CCBill will relay a message via email informing you that it is time for the authentication data upload.
- Random - CCBill automatically generates unique user names and passwords for the subscribers. We will display the user name and password on the Approval page and email them to the consumer and to the merchant.
- Email User Management Errors - The email address to receive the user management error information from our service. This occurs when consumers try to sign up and we are unable to add them to the authentication system. This sets how to handle the errors for the authentication system.
The following is available ONLY when "User Defined" is selected in the User Name Type field:
- Collect User Name/ Password - If we are administering the user management, this provides the preferred method to give the authentication data to the subscribers. The following options are available for Collect User Name/ Password:
